FAQ

For all those things you wanted to know about Barefoot Studio Pilates.

+ How do I book a class or purchase a class pass?

If you are new to Barefoot Studio you should go to our Schedule Page and find a class you wish to book. You can purchase it with either a casual visit or pay for it with one of our Memberships such as a monthly subscription or Class Pack. After you have signed up from our website once you can then use the Momence app to book, waitlist, cancel or reschedule your classes. You can also view your schedule and purchase a class pass. After you sign up for your first class you will receive an email from us about how to find the app.

+ What should I wear?

Wear comfortable workout clothes. You’ll be lying down some of the time with your hands or legs in the air so make sure your clothes move with you. You don’t wear shoes or socks in class – regular socks will make you slide too much and can be unsafe. We suggest you go barefoot!

+ What should I do if I am new?

If you have no prior group reformer pilates class experience be sure to book into a Foundation Reformer Class. Please arrive 10 minutes before your first class to meet your instructor so you can be given a rundown on the equipment and you can let her know of any injuries you have, or have had previously.

+ Why do you use Reformer Pilates beds?

Pilates reformer machines are the ultimate choice for lean muscle toning due to the adjustable finely tuned spring loaded resistance and the wide variety of exercises available. Springs help to lengthen and strengthen muscles, rather than building bulk. The springs are useful to provide both assistance in some exercises and added resistance challenge in others, making it an invaluable tool.

+ How do I cancel a booking?

Cancellations can be made from your momence account or use your Momence App of via the Barefoot Studio Website. For Group Reformer Pilates you can freely cancel up to 12 hours prior to the class start time. If you cancel less than 12 hours before the start of class, this will count as a late-cancel. If you late cancel or no-show and are on a class pass or casual pass you will lose a credit. For all 1:1 sessions 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule. If you late cancel or no-show and are you will be charged for the class or a class credit will be deducted.

+ I'm Pregnant

Even if you have just found out you are pregnant your instructor needs to know. We can note this on your profile and how many weeks. Your information is completely confidential. Pregnant clients need to avoid activities where they might get too hot, lying on their back, inversions, heavy lifting and various other exercises. We recommend just participating in Foundation Reformer, unless you have had a consistent practice leading up to your pregnancy. We also have a Pre and Postnatal course that runs each school term so you can join this also! Email us to find out more at hello@barefootstudiopilates.com
